Adaptive Theatre Ensemble

People of all abilities are welcome to join our Adaptive Theatre Ensemble, which develops general theatre, team-building, and personal expression skills in a supportive environment. Ensemble members work together to create theatrical experiences adapted to a variety of physical, mental, and emotional needs under the direction of certified secondary educator, Shira Schwartz. Verbal and non-verbal, ambulatory and non-ambulatory, and visual and auditory impairments are all accommodated. 

Shira Schwartz, Adaptive Theatre Teacher

Shira Schwartz is currently the Theatre Director at Basha High School, where she teaches all theatre classes, produces and directs the main stage performances, runs the improv team, and produces four nights of one-acts each school year. She began a Unified Theatre class at Basha High School and has students who work professionally in the theatrical arts; although she retired from performing years ago. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Theatre and a Master’s in education.
