Where Students Experience the Power of Live Theatre

Educator Encore Program (Student Matinees)

Our Educator Encore Program makes it easy for schools and youth-centered groups to experience live children’s theatre through student field trips to see matinee shows of our popular Main Stage productions. We collaborate with Mesa Arts Center staff to offer tiered pricing packages and coordinate field trip logistics (i.e., POs, bus parking, staff, group seating, etc.).

A moderated Q&A with cast and crew occurs at the end of every show. Backstage tours can also be arranged depending on group size and availability.

Productions are performed at the Nesbitt/Elliott Playhouse, located inside the Mesa Arts Center, 1 E Main St, Mesa, AZ 85201. The venue seats up to 200 people and is accessible to all children.

Literature Alive!

Literature Alive! is a unique program that brings classic children’s stories to life through 25-minute theatrical performances in order to make reading fun and interactive for young audiences. Designed to inspire K-2 audiences, students receive a copy of the book after watching these tales come to life.

Performers come from our homeschool program (ages 6 to 16). Part of their fall curriculum involves transforming a different children’s story into a captivating show.

Title I schools in the East Valley are eligible. Performances can be scheduled anytime during the spring semesters. Non-Title I schools are also invited to participate at cost ($Book x #students + $200 production fee.)

Educators interested in bringing Literature Alive! to their campuses download the flyer for additional details.

Toolkits & Study Guides

We provide supplemental resources for a few of our Main Stage Productions for parents and educators to create meaningful connections between the theatre experience and learning.
