Our Policies
Dear EVCT Community,
In our continued commitment to governance and transparency, the EVCT Board of Directors is sharing several of the policies we have in place for our families to review. These policies are rooted in best practices and focused on the goals of safety for all in our care, as well as the sustainability of the organization. These policies are reviewed annually and adjusted as necessary to reflect the ever-changing landscape of youth arts organizations.
Should you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to me or any member of the EVCT Board of Directors. Our goal is to ensure that each member of our community has a clear understanding of the expectations for ourselves and staff, in addition to what the community can expect from any leader within our organization.
As always, we thank you for trusting East Valley Children’s Theatre with your family’s artistic journey. Our community is our most treasured asset.
Warm Regards,
Lisa Olson
EVCT Board President 2025-2026
Belonging and Inclusion at East Valley Children’s Theatre
Belonging and Inclusion at East Valley Children’s Theatre
At East Valley Children’s Theatre (EVCT), we believe every child deserves to feel seen, heard, and valued. As a theatre for kids by kids, we are dedicated to creating a space where all young people can learn, grow, and thrive, together.
We support this belief through the following commitments:
- Creating a Safe Space – We foster a supportive and respectful environment where children of all backgrounds and abilities feel safe and encouraged.
- Providing Equitable Opportunities – We ensure fair and inclusive access to roles, programs, and creative experiences for every child, no matter their identity, background, or ability.
- Promoting Compassion and Respect – We encourage empathy, kindness, and understanding, helping students value diverse perspectives and build meaningful connections.
We know that our theatre is stronger when it reflects the richness of our entire community. Every child belongs at EVCT in whatever way feels right for them.
Our commitment to belonging and inclusion aligns with EVCT’s mission: to provide transformative theatre experiences, nurture creativity, and foster a welcoming community for young people, their families, and the wider world. By embracing empathy, practicing kindness, and ensuring that every child has a place on and off the stage, EVCT continues to be a place where everyone can shine.
