Our Team
Managed by an all-volunteer Board of Directors and staffed by a team of professionals, EVCT has grown from one production and one workshop to an award-winning, perennial education-based children’s theatre, bringing exceptional theatre to the community.
Producing Artistic Director, Amy Shuttleworth
Amy Shuttleworth is thrilled to step into the role of Producing Artistic Director at East Valley Children’s Theatre. With more than 20 years of experience as a youth theatre educator and performing arts professional, she holds a BFA in Theatrical Production (Acting) from the University of Arizona, where she trained extensively in both classical and contemporary theatre.
Amy has directed and choreographed more than 40 productions. She recently directed EVCT’s Charlotte’s Web and is currently directing and choreographing How to Train Your Dragon JR. Other favorite credits include Cabaret, She Kills Monsters, Hair, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Heathers. Amy has also performed professionally as an actor in productions across the country. A classically trained vocalist and vocal instructor, she has extensive experience training, teaching, and performing as a dancer.
Amy is deeply committed to arts education and believes in the transformative power of theatre for young artists. As Producing Artistic Director, she looks forward to supporting EVCT’s students, families, and creative teams while developing joyful, inclusive, and artistically ambitious experiences that foster confidence, creativity, and connection.
A proud mom of two, Amy enjoys music, cooking, and creating new things in her free time.
